Taylor Swift has been rerecording her first six albums to regain ownership of her master recordings after they were sold without her involvement. So far, she’s rereleased four of them. But when it comes to Reputation, she’s shared that she might not rerecord it at all. The original release was tied to a specific moment in her life that would be hard to get into the headspace of. That era came after being publicly dragged by the media, trending online with #taylorswiftisoverparty, disappearing from the public eye for a year, and starting what would become a long-term relationship. Trying to emotionally reenter all of that for a rerecording is an understandable challenge. So, as a huge supporter of her brand, I decided to create my own concept design for what Reputation (Taylor’s Version) could look like. This project is my take on what the visuals, including a special edition vinyl sleeve cover, might look like if the story of Reputation were told again today.
